Computer Help in Angwin, CA
I make residential house calls up the hill in Angwin for Windows PCs and Macs, printers, new computer setup, data transfers, email and password trouble, backups, cleanup after a scam or malware, and home Wi-Fi. You deal directly with me, Robert. I have more than 40 years of computer experience and explain everything in ordinary, understandable language.
Angwin is a drive from Napa, so describing the equipment and the problem when you call helps me plan the visit and bring what may be needed. Same-day appointments are sometimes possible depending on the day's route.
I only get paid when I solve your problem. No charge to diagnose, and no charge if I cannot fix it. That is my No Fix, No Fee Guarantee.

What I Help Angwin Residents With
Most of my visits up the hill are the everyday things: a Windows computer or Mac that has slowed to a crawl, freezes, or will not start; a printer that says offline or stopped printing after something changed; email that quit sending or receiving; passwords nobody can find or remember; and cleanup after a scam call or malware, handled patiently and without judgment.
I also set up new computers and move your files over from the old one, set up a backup so your photos and documents are not living in only one place, and help with home Wi-Fi when devices will not connect.
House Calls Up the Hill
Living up in Angwin has its trade-offs, and technology is one of them. There is no computer shop in town, hauling a desktop down the hill to Napa is nobody's idea of a good afternoon, and the problem often will not reproduce once the machine is unplugged from your house anyway. So I come to you, in Angwin and throughout Napa County, and work on everything where it actually lives.
I specialize in residential service, homeowners and renters, in their own homes.
Faster Help Next Time, Without the Drive
Plenty of problems are things I could sort out in ten minutes if I could see your screen. While I am at your house, I can set up secure remote access if you would like it. After that, when something goes wrong, I can often log in and fix it the same day instead of us both waiting for a trip up valley. Remote sessions are billed for the time they take, and if it only takes a few minutes, there is usually no charge at all.
You stay in control the whole time. Your computer stays locked until you unlock it, and I cannot enter your password or PIN. Only you can do that, so I cannot get in unless you are there and let me in. You watch everything I do on your screen, and you can end the session whenever you want. It is set up in person, by me, at your home. Remember the rule either way: do not let anyone into your computer that you do not personally know, and if someone contacts you first asking for remote access, that is a scam. Hang up.
If the Trouble Is the Connection
Sometimes what looks like a computer problem turns out to be the connection. One distinction worth knowing: Wi-Fi is the link inside your house, from the router to your devices, while internet service is what your provider delivers to the property. When I am there, I can tell you which one you are dealing with. If it turns out to be something I cannot solve, your next call goes to the right place instead of an hour on hold for nothing.
Pricing
Residential house-call service is $160 per hour. I do not charge for travel time, but because Angwin is a drive from Napa, there is a one hour minimum for visits up the hill, and most jobs are finished within that hour.
I only get paid when I solve your problem. No charge to diagnose, and no charge if I cannot fix it, not even the minimum. That is my No Fix, No Fee Guarantee!

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you make house calls in Angwin?
Yes. I help Angwin residents at home with Windows PCs and Macs, printers, new computer setup, moving files to a new computer, email and password trouble, backups, scam and malware cleanup, and home Wi-Fi. This is help for people in their own homes, including the neighborhoods around Pacific Union College. We serve all of Angwin and all of Napa County.
Should I bring my computer down to Napa?
No. I make house calls, so the computer, printer, router, and cables stay connected where they are normally used.
Do you charge extra to drive up to Angwin?
No. I do not charge for travel time. Because it is a drive from Napa, there is a one hour minimum for Angwin visits, but most jobs are done within that hour, and there is no separate trip fee on top of it.
Is my problem the computer or the internet?
That is a fair question and often the first thing worth sorting out. While I am there I can tell you whether what you are seeing is the computer itself or the connection coming into the house. If it turns out to be your internet provider's side, I will say so plainly and tell you what to report to them.
Can you fix an internet outage in Angwin?
I can troubleshoot the router, Wi-Fi, computer, and connections inside your home. An outage on the provider's side has to be repaired by the provider, and I will tell you clearly when that is what I am seeing.

Can you help me without coming out?
Sometimes, and it is worth setting up. If you would like, I can install secure remote access while I am at your house, I can often fix later problems the same day instead of us both waiting for a trip up valley. You stay in control the whole time. It works like this: you call me when something is wrong, and I connect to your computer. Your computer is locked, so the password screen comes up, and only you can enter your password or PIN. I cannot enter it. That means I cannot get into your computer unless you are sitting there and choose to let me in.. You watch everything I do on your screen, and you can end the session at any time.
Can you come to Angwin the same day?
Sometimes, depending on the day's route and travel time. Call to ask about the next opening.

Pacific Union College was deliberately demoted. Robert has done one or two jobs there in ten years, so leading with it misrepresented the business and aimed at the wrong customer. It now appears once, as a geographic reference in an FAQ ("the neighborhoods around Pacific Union College"), which is how Angwin residents actually describe where they live. Never imply affiliation with the college or offer campus IT.
The real Angwin hooks are: no computer shop up the mountain, and no hauling equipment down the hill.
Wi-Fi is offered but never leads. Robert does some Wi-Fi work but not much, so it appears at the end of service lists and in the FAQ, never as a headline or opening hook. Do not remove it.
Travel policy confirmed: no charge for travel time, one hour minimum for Angwin because of the drive. Stated in Pricing and in its own FAQ.
